week 3 reading notes

A few steps a producer needs to take after shooting some field materials.
pixels and dots=fragments/interviews etc.

>story arc > narrative script needed.
deductive design (similar to writting an essay where you got an thesis statement( revealed in the title perhaps in a documentary) and then collect sequences according to it later on)
multithreaded structure (power cut on channel 4).
episodic /inductive design
paper edit: editing for a few main, crucial sequences.
prequel /rough cut/ selects or threads
unraveling the footage
form a story in editing room:
steps: review your footage after everytime you shoot/keep making shoot logs and interview transcript/
shoot log (shoot quality; length; location)
so while reading the transcript and referring to the shoot logs, producers can make a few decisions.

2protangonist portray (quality and quantity)
3visual footage corresponding the interview transcript.
4single story domination or multithreads
5chronology
6style consistency between sequences
the documentary script comes after the shooting whilst fiction fillm script comes the other way around.
